The new owners of this home were looking to give the kitchen and living room an update with a rustic vibe. The major challenge of the space was dealing with the cathedral ceiling and 4 existing skylights which left nowhere for ambient and accent lighting to be places. The track lighting system in place looked bulky and outdated. The solution was beams that not only created interest to the ceiling but provided places to add much needed light fixtures. The fireplace in the family room was updated as well to get rid of the large "tube-style" TV niche and rid the mantle and surround of the distinctly traditional style.
