Lake Erie had a major impact on this design from the theme to the actual view of the lake. The client wanted to keep definition between the primary living space and kitchen. However, the walls and a small doorway blocked the lake view from the kitchen. The walls were removed and uniform posts were constructed on either side of the room. The posts housed the ducting for the cook top and also allowed for custom glass shelves that defined and separated the spaces. A sea glass tile was used for the back splash to highlight the lovely lake view which is now clear from every angle.
