Seaglass
This kitchen renovation truly transformed the entire first floor of this home. Two sections of wall were removed between the kitchen, dining room, and living room, creating one large open space perfect for entertaining. The single window on the sink wall was replaced with a set of three windows to bring in more natural light and expand the view into the backyard.
The centerpiece of the kitchen is the island with a green glass countertop, inspired by the color of sea glass. The client requested the top have an organic shape which was custom designed and templated by Connecticut Kitchen Design. The back and sides of the island are finished with in the style of board and batten.
The cabinets are Brookhaven I frameless by Wood-Mode, with the Edgemont Recessed door and matching drawer head. The lower cabinets are quarter sawn white oak finished in Matte Shale with Graphite Glaze. The upper cabinets are Nordic White paint on maple. The white oak works to balance and soften the bright white paint to create an earthy yet clean aesthetic.
The countertop is a quartz, white with light veining in gray and beige which ties the lower and upper cabinets together perfectly.
