The clients wanted a vibrant space that reflected the desert location of the home. They had a difficult time deciding where to place furniture, since the room was the centre of the home and could be seen from almost every other room in the house. We created a custom built-in unit to mirror the existing design of the kitchen to tie the two spaces together. By placing pieces pulled away from the walls, using smart-designed furniture such as a drop leaf dining table as a console table, and placing swivel chairs in front of the television, we were able to create a comfortable sitting area that fit in all the clients' requirements.
