An extension in the heart of E17 with a unique glazed roof that connects the clients' new kitchen and dining space with their garden through an arched window and set of three bi-folding doors.

Above the dining space a pitched roof lets natural light and interesting shadows come into the extension and play across a new surface of exposed brickwork. Further back in the plan towards the main house the angle of the roof changes - coming down to form a flat ceiling with a punched roof-light that announces the connection between the new space and the living room beyond.

Seán and Stephen obtained permission for the extension through the Larger Homes Permitted Development scheme. They went on to help the clients envision the design and finishes of the new kitchen and dining space in order that they could complete the project with their own family builder.
