Renovation project in west Austin. The original house had many walls at 45 degree angles, and very small windows. The main intent of the project was to open up the spaces to the beautiful backyard, and to clean up the 1980s floor plan. We wanted better connection between the spaces, and also to eliminate some of the dropped spaces to minimize the vertical changes throughout. The exterior transitions the modern interiors into the natural surroundings.
