This 1930's bungalow needed an update on a fireplace surround. The brick substrate was in bad condition and the fireplace had not been used in years. We selected a tile that was contemporary in color and style, that would be simple and timeless and, yet, in keeping with a traditional application when used as a 1" x 6" vertical placement on the surround and as a large 24" square for the hearth. The grout is slightly darker in color with very small grout joints.
