Small house on a small budget, the architect made the most of the space by using soaring ceilings, open spaces and ample use of natural light, for both lighting and heating purposes. Upon the owner's request, this house was situated on the lot based on the angle of the sun on the Summer solstice (thus the name). When the sun rises on the longest day of the year, light splits the house from back door to front door. This happens for only a few days prior and after the solstice, paying homage to the light and energy the sun gives to this home.
