Sited near the rim of a small neglected farm valley, this residence emerged from the desire to engage with the land while reviving the farm land.
The owner's strong connection both professionally and personally to wine, food, and the land informed the program such that the primary spaces in the main building were designated to the kitchen and dining areas with only a very small space dedicated to a typical living room function. Simple, honest materials of rough poured concrete walls, smooth concrete floors and repurposed redwood wine barrel siding continuously flow from the interior to the exterior spaces grounding the home into the landscape.
