Southside Hardwood Flooring

This project involved removal of existing flooring and installation of wide plank Eastern White pine. Eastern white pine has a very long history of use in flooring throughout the northeast due to it's durability, and character. Wide plank flooring was traditionally installed by "face nailing" which means that the nail heads would be visible as 3 nails would be needed to firmly attach the flooring to the floor joists. We chose the modern method of installing wide plank flooring which requires the use of polyurethane adhesive to securely bond the flooring to the subfloor along with concealed edge nailing. This provides the charming traditional feel for the room while meeting modern design standards. Base boards and shoe molding were replaced to finish the look.
