What a fun project! We took the existing kitchen and extended the whole room about eight feet, adding a skylight in the process. The extra space gave us room for a huge island for prep and entertaining, as well as a really large window to maximize the natural light in the space. The dark cabinetry makes the space feel cozy, but still very spacious. The granite on the island, aptly named "Fascination" was the splurge item here, but was absolutely worth it- it not only dictated the rest of the selections, but it is hands down one of the most beautiful stones I've seen in a kitchen yet!
