Split 3 Ways

Early discussions for this project revolved around three critical components: House, Studio for an Artist, and Studio for a Musician. A view of the water was a goal for each, without sacrificing privacy. The forms grew directly out of their program, with each volume developing its own distinct character and materials. Clean, contemporary lines set the tone for the detailing throughout the project, with the spirit of minimalism guiding the decision-making process. Artwork display called for quiet white interiors, while the contrast of natural woods (maple, bamboo, walnut) with steel and glass gave the interiors its character.

The shell of the entire home was detailed and constructed with a high degree of energy efficiency in mind. Ultra-insulation was the standard with foam panels, triple glazing, and near passive house standards for construction.
