This was an old delapitated home. There were walls everywhere, the spaces looked dark, small and dingy and disfunctional. We chose the focal point of the entire living space to be the back of the house where there was a stunning huge cherry tree and beautiful garden. We removed the wall that decided the claustrophobic wall that blocked the backyard view. This wall was the original outer wall of the house. we also removed the wall deciding the kitchen and family room all the way to the entrance of the house. By the time we were done the space looked huge.
