This hillside home above St. Helena is blessed with commanding eastern views of the upper Napa Valley. The existing pool terrace benefitted from the view, but due to the steep grade, was too small to accomodate large groups and outdoor dining. We converted a small panel of lawn at one end of the pool to a cast-stone seating area under a shade arbor, and added a solid-roofed outdoor dining pavilion with a large stone fireplace, built-in grill center, and a stone pizza oven for alfresco dining by the pool. Planter walls of local stone overflow with citrus, lavender and rosemary.
