Staircase Update

Homeowners built a new home but missed the luxury wood lower level staircase from their previous home. The carpet was showing wear and they wanted a fresh new look. Architrave was engaged to remove the carpet, pad and builder grade wood and refurbish the staircase with new oak stair treads and painted risers. Attention was paid to retaining appropriate rise to alleviate tripping hazards (big box store veneers were not the answer given the flared bottom steps). The bottom two stairs were rebuilt to accommodate the new wood treads and trim required for the elegant flared landing.

Architrave Solutions: Since it was necessary for the homeowners to use the staircase during the project, carpet, padding and builder treads were removed and painted surfaces prepped and readied for the new installation. Builder treads were re-fastened temporarily and all finishing of the new oak stair treads was done offsite keeping on-site construction/dust/painting to a minimum.
