What worlds I have created for my clients have come from a fantasy, nonetheless; it is the fantasy of creation; the empty, waiting space that needs but the touch of the sure hand and the careful eye to enliven it. One's vision is conceived in colour and texture, form and pattern, in an arrangement both creative and disciplined; it is all there; one sees it within the depths of one's thought, and it is translated into a living, breathing reality, a room to be lived in, appreciated, and enjoyed. One has created a space that lives and breathes; it does so around the life of its occupants; they lend it colour and the currents of their passage give it movement. It is not your room any longer; it belongs to them, yet it bears your signature. To some, it is an assemblage, a composition of disparate materials and pieces bound in harmony; to others, it is a witches' brew, a cauldron boiled and its contents rendered of their fat; it is a heady dish, a spiritual cassoulet.
