Strait Lane Residence
"I do not want a beige house." Memorable words from one of my best and most trusting clients, I took them to heart. She does not have a beige house, she has a house that is filled with the colors of the sea (here in landlocked Dallas).
A major remodel (2008-09) set this house on a path of evolving depth that continues today. In the initial phase of work, we decided we would get the backgrounds right and build from there. Better to do without than have pieces unworthy of the space. Good decision, for in 2015 we found "the" perfect antique Asian cabinets for the end of the living room. What would we have done if we had earlier settled for some "lesser than" tables? I shudder to think.
Recently, we added a custom Regency style chest to the intensely red coral entry hall. Photos of that are coming soon. Wonderful things are afoot.
