We updated this family room to include earthy modern colors and textures to play off of the beautiful prairie style architecture of the home. Wanting to seat everyone in the family we added additional seating in a plan that made sense for movie night or conversation. Earthy pottery, modern light fixtures, rich textiles and patterns all work to create balance to the weight of the horizontally oriented fireplace and the ceiling detail.
