Did you know that from 1890 to 1958 the BC Electric Railway Co. Ltd. operated an interurban streetcar line between Vancouver and Chilliwack? Substations were built along the line to supply electricity to the trains. The 13,000 square foot Sumas substation still exists and was converted to an amazing home. I had the privilege of photographing this eclectic property recently.
