Surf Ranch Convergence Kitchen
The original kitchen at La Costa House was from 1954 so it had an 8ft ceiling and a disjointed floorplan. Our first design challange was to open it all up by adding beautiful beams and a restructuring its roof line. The indoor outdoor kitchen peninsula counter design is one of our most favorite parts of our surf ranch project in lunada bay We designed the Peninsula Island to flow straight through the wall into the backyard setting —the exterior portion of the counter has a custom pass-through window above so that food and beverage can be set up and move seamlessly out to the pool and bbq area for easy entertaining. The indoor outdoor counter along with the 14’ sliding pocketing door system, blurs the definition between outdoors and interior spaces so that it all feels like one big continuous room.
The kitchen includes a beautiful walk in butler pantry as well.
Some stylistic design elements are the all white shaker style cabinets and farmhouse white tongue and groove walls, contrasted by poured cement farmhouse sink, near black center island, and dramatic white stone counter.
The passthrough window makes it ultimately suited for year round backyard entertaining fun. Designed and built by space case design.
