Faced with blinding sun due to the southern facing patio, we started with an extra deep patio for this design. An arched fireplace anchored the patio corner as well as blocked even more of the harsh sun. The hardscape + pool coping had to be updated so a colored concrete paver, and natural stone was implemented for color and texture. Once the old pool fencing was removed, we were able to design in something much more artistic. A planter and the new outdoor kitchen were cladded in a travertine stone veneer to pull that indoor material out. The step risers and fireplace mantel become a painted black steel for a dramatic contrast. Artistic laser cut bollard lights help break up the back fireplace corner. Finally the planting was minimal, intentional, and clean.
