Terry / Master Suite

Challenge: Design Grande Master Suite. Remodel 800 square foot upstairs consisting of 3 bedrooms, one being a master with a bathroom, along with a full bath in between the other 2 bedrooms, hall closet. Master bedroom had an existing gas fireplace. Two elements to consider... fireplace needed to stay in the same place, and the plumbing for the water closet to stay in the same spot because of the expense to move the plumbing.

Wish List: Vaulted ceiling, fireplace, reading area, bathroom with walk in shower, walk in closet, work out area, king size bed and hidden media... they got it all and more!! Please read photo captions for more detailed information.

Along with 8 foot doors to create a grand entrance....The design in the floor incorporated Red Travertine mixed with the traditional Natural Travertine more commonly used, the frame and accents are made up of a beautiful Bronze tile.

The cabinet at the end of the bed houses a flat screen t.v. that rises out of it.

The traditional 8 foot ceiling were raised to allow a cathedral ceiling and incorporated can lighting.

The exercise space is on the other side of the far wall with glass block. The only space that enclosed an area to the ceiling is the fully custom built closet. In the rest of the area the walls were all left at 8.5 feet to allow an open feel, yet provide some privacy to the exercise and bathroom...

The large window replaced a small window that was there, to enjoy the priceless view. The built in book case is the back side of the bathroom area and notice the book case is the same as the wall height, once again providing for the open/privacy feel.

The fire place was left in the same place but received a face lift with new granite and a beautifully custom made hearth.
