The Beach House Retrofit Project
Once a popular gathering place known as The Beach House, the 1932 structure was quickly fading away and falling in disrepair.
It is now fully restored, preserved and retrofitted for maximum comfort with a minimum carbon footprint.
For a reduced impact on the environment and because we do believe we can all live better in smaller homes, the original building footprint of this California Bungalow remained intact. That is not to say that the 1780 SF home does not feel bigger than actually is. There are many ways to make ANY home feel more spacious, the main one being innovative design.
This Award Winning Home is now a blueprint for more healthy, comfortable homes that produce almost as much energy as it consumes; The Beach House is Energy Star Certified, with a HERS rating score of 30; it's also LEED Platinum Certified.
