The Meadows Bathroom
Our homeowners had plenty of square footage in their bathroom; they just didn’t have the functionality or the style to go with it. By removing the angled walls that surrounded a rather large and dated cultured marble tub, we were able to give them a bathroom that has function and style. We installed a freestanding tub, we relocated the shower, and we added a much needed additional sink to the vanity.
The freestanding tub was tried on for size and comfort in the showroom. The showpiece tub fit perfectly in the newly opened space under the large windows with a panoramic view. By relocating the walk-in closet door we were able to install the larger custom tiled shower on the newly created wall space. Our homeowners are tall and really desired a shower where they didn’t have to stoop under the shower head. We installed a recessed ceiling mount rain head, adjustable slide rail with handheld and placed the body sprays to suit the height of our homeowners. The shower glass was coated with Micro Tec glass coating for years of low maintenance service.
The relocation of the shower opened up an entire wall where we could now have the vanity storage, counter space and extra sink desired. We choose rift cut oak cabinets in a charcoal stain with a Carrera marble counter top, undermount sinks and coordinating linear marble tile backsplash.
We installed porcelain tile on the floor with a heat mat controlled by a programmable thermostat to save on energy costs. We also installed a Tuzio towel warmer with thermostat for those cold winter mornings. In the toilet compartment we installed a dual flush toilet along with a wall cabinet for additional storage. The entire space now has an open airy feel.
