Thomasdale
Client: He is a school teacher and she is in the medical field. With the intent of downsizing this couple found a fixer upper in north Austin.
Details: This early 1960s house in the North Shoal Creek neighborhood of Austin had been a rental for about 15 years. Little had changed with this house since it was built. Our clients only knew that this neglected old house they were about to buy, needed to be gutted. the main focus of this project was replacing the kitchen and bath.
Inspiration: This particular client already had a fun mix of mid century furnishing. It allowed us to indulge our mid century obsessions in creating a space around their belongings. to make the kitchen feel bigger we extended a wood ceiling into the plane of the living space. bathroom vanities were fabricated from salvaged furniture to create a one of a kind space.
