This was a VERY small city townhouse backyard (20' x 20'). All of the townhouses have a "communal" back area separated by white picket vinyl fencing. The entire back area has drainage issues which was the first task thing we had to address. We installed a artificial lawn as a "natural" lawn would have been hard pressed to survive. We were restricted by the condo association with regards to our "material choices" and as such we decided to us aluminum railing on the newly designed deck in place of the less hardy vinyl.
