I prepped the first set of 4 boards to mount to the fascia under the crown molding that were cut down to 1" X 2.75" and mounted with 3.5" deck screws every 2' with the screw holes pre-drilled and counter-sunk. The new fascia board you see standing vertically against my platform is a 16' long cedar...

As seen from the left side to show how I mounted the smaller 1" X 2.75" cedar boards horizontally to mount the new fascia board onto with 2.5" stainless steel deck screws every 2' with 3" to 3.5" screws run into the crown molding for support.

The Homeowner had tried to build out the fascia with 3 layers of recycled lumber, but was not satisfied with how it turned out.. I had to strip off all that wood that was nailed and screwed in place, and then add a double row of support boards, since he had removed all the crown molding back there....

I was able to use the old fascia bords I took off to form more planking across to the front for the whole 50' length across the side of their house. Fortunately they had to go out of town this week, so the timing was good to have all this in the way.
