Traditional Inspired Wine Room
Our client approached us with the idea of converting their existing dining room space into a traditional European inspired wine cellar. Their extensive and very personal wine collection deserved pride of place in their modern home.
One of the biggest challenges with creating a successful cellar to this brief was making sure that the rustic charm and materiality of the cellar wouldn’t clash with the rest of the house.
The brick curved ceiling and tiled floor with rustic timber cabinetry was set against modern, streamlined sliding doors and creative lighting to offset the old against the new and help achieve a finish that didn’t look like an after thought.
This cellar achieves the thermal and spatial requirements for our client, but more importantly it has created a space that enhances the enjoyment of their incredible wine collection.
