The program required adding a new gathering space with a full view to the Cove. While the view facades required transparency, the design was able to maintain the plain style of the existing house where it was seen most obviously from the road and entrance approach. The distance and orientation between the Cove facades and the original house was enough to allow using full glass with Victorian detailing without violating the plainness of the original house façade.
