This small backyard was uninviting and unused by a family with young children. The owners request was to remove the grass and create a modern courtyard space for outdoor entertaining, with a pergola, fire pit, and vegetable garden. Photos were taken about 12-18 months after installation, and the area is already lush and full. In a few years, the block walls will be hidden from view and the trees will provide additional shade.
