Tree Line Modern
This natural house design was inspired by the tree line of its site and the privacy that it provided. Within the home are open living area spaces that are afforded with beautiful views without sacrificing privacy. The home is different from many homes today in that it’s not simply placed on a plot of land. Its design, modern vocabulary and landscape speak as one.
We wanted the home to be open, yet private, with continual invitations for its residents to enjoy the lush vegetation, and nature. No view from the home is spoiled. The living spaces naturally flow from living and play spaces, indoor and outdoor living is linked with common outdoor sanctuaries are just a glance or open door away. The home has a variety of distinctive design features that define the spaces and that enable connection to nature. Design features include varying ceiling heights defining space, usage of large spans of glass and multiple access points the outside living areas. Usage of rich wood floors and numerous architectural elements and design features integrate nature and a modern vocabulary that has been softened by using French architectural influences.
The home embraces an open floor plan and lives big due to its highly functional space planning. It’ll never feel too small or too big and is meant to be just right for any lifestyle.
Millwork and flooring were custom made locally. Flooring uses a rich reclaimed red and white oak barn wood to create a modern, yet warm and comfortable aesthetic.

• The home uses a high efficiency, ductless, mini-split system HVAC system.
• LED lighting is throughout the home and its exterior and uses European developed products.
• Flooring is made of reclaimed barn wood from the state of Alabama.
