TriBeCa Loft

A former wrapping paper factory on the fourth-floor, this grand Tribeca loft was transformed into a sanctuary amongst the city for our long-time clients, who wanted to create a sense of ‘Australia’ amongst their busy professional lives and Manhattan location. Spatially, therefore, we focused on the clever zoning of open space and providing access to external views, with a small library/sitting space between the main dining and living areas providing a moment of intimacy, while a custom banquette with inbuilt storage along the windows provides connection to the bustle of the city beyond. Taking inspiration from the distinctive tones of the Blue Mountains (as seen by the clients illustrated in our book Using Australian Colour), dusky blue and purple upholstery is complemented by warm timbers and vibrant yellows, creating a sophisticated and playful home away from home.
