Expansion of residential add-on and outdoor spaces

Design project for a small family outdoor area and attached service areas on the backyard of a house in Maputo.

To ensure the use of the new outdoor area, and to welcome the users to the renovated backyard, which was neglected and forgotten, it was established a direct outdoor-indoor relation through the TV room. A dinning area was created under a pergola in the garden that received a careful landscaping work, which is one of the client’s most enjoyed hobbies.

The space constraints and the juxtaposition of the social and the service areas, witch are more restricted, generated relationships that had to be carefully crafted.
