Tumble
Doors cannot be opened without a handle; you need to pull them towards you. You can hide the handle, style them, make them very bold but they are always present. This inspired Koen Devos to make a cupboard where you don’t do the work but gravity does. It becomes surprisingly poetic. You don’t expect the door to open, let alone with a graceful and slow swing. It’s a pleasure for the eye. The only thing you need to do is to mobilize the axis. There are no screws or hinges; the door turns on its own axis by a pivot. The simplicity of this system is unique! The cupboard got the perfect name: tumble.
