Union City Kitchen

Working inside an already much altered 1960's ranch house, we created a new kitchen for an accomplished home chef. The kitchen was designed specifically for her cooking style and baking needs.

Working within the existing space, including an eccentrically place skylight, the kitchen met the owner's specific requirement. Upper cabinets were kept to the two side walls adding the sense of spaciousness.

Working with the existing ceiling slope, we placed the full height pantry and wall ovens against one wall with a small counter and an undercounter microwave. There is an "appliance garage" to hide counter top appliances.

The counters are granite and soap stone. The cabinets are natural finished maple. The backsplash is glass tile. The owner opted to use mostly pan drawers for under counter storage. The dishwasher is a Fischer Pykel with two drawers.
