The homeowners came to us requesting our help in solving their kitchen challenges. Their existing galley style kitchen was small, cramped, dated and not conducive to cooking or entertaining.

The existing kitchen completely lacked function and work space and was closed off from the rest of the house. The finishes were old and dated. The tiny step up kitchen did not fit the eclectic, airy feel of the remainder of the home.

Our solution was to include an addition, opening the kitchen up to the rest of the home and to the outside. The property sits on several acres of scenic woods and the design was centered around bringing the outside in by incorporating finishes in earth tones and adding an abundance of windows.

The result is a reflection of the owners love of the outdoors and eclectic style. The functionality and flow is vastly improved by the addition of a large peninsula with generous counter space for food preparation and entertaining. The inclusion of open, glass, and closed cabinets provides ample storage while lending to the airy feel of the space. We listened carefully to our client’s needs and wants and the homeowners are thrilled with the outcome.
