Updated Urban Kitchen
Our client wanted a new vent hood to disappear over her new range. They had existing cabinetry that we worked around to accomplish this beautiful look. The solid wood shelves were added for shallow storage and warmth. Adding the black industrial sconce brightens this corner of the kitchen. She also worked with a custom cabinet maker to add more functional storage inserts to the existing cabinets under the windows. They also removed the cabinet doors and had deep drawers built under the windows to house their children’s many everyday items. The tall coffee bar next to the refrigerator was added. We added chunky stained wood shelves to bring warmth to the gray cabinets. We chose hardworking quartz in a traditional marble pattern to keep with this historic home’s charm. The backsplash is glazed porcelain that is reminicent of tin tiles. The original farmhouse sink remains a centerpiece.
