A property in desperate need of a back yard space gets graded and expanded by adding minimalist concrete retaining walls. Set at opposing angles and fading into the grade, the walls add more usable space to the landscape. Juxtaposed against the walls are corten steel steps filled with recycled granite gravel that allows the homeowner to move from level to level. Native and deer resistant ornamental grasses, perennials and woody trees soften the hardscape.
