Urban costal kitchen
Many times I walk into a residence and can pin point the challenges, obstacles and opportunity that the space has to offer, this project was one of them. This home is located blocks away from the beach, so we wanted to capture a beach like atmosphere but without being too costal. We were able to achieve this by highlight the colors and texture that you might find while scrolling down on a morning beach walk. The original layout was very enclosed and dark without no room for adequate storage, and when being in the kitchen you were completely isolated from the living/dining area, making this kitchen a complete disappointed for my clients. My vision was simple… we need it to open the space but we had to provide space that would still provide the much need storage. Due to the odd original kitchen layout I was able to reconfigure the space so that it could include an enclosed butlers pantry and fuse kitchen and dining in one space.
