This cape style home has been brought back to life by creating serene and well edited rooms to be enjoyed by the family and guests. The the living room French Bergere chairs, which are family heirlooms have been revitalized with a modern velvet fabric. A custom area rug was designed to bring together all the colors in the room - caramel, raspberry and deep plum. A vintage piano bench was covered in a striking Ralp Lauren cheetah print linen to give it a younger and more playful look.
In the dining room the paint colors and fabrics were picked out of the rich color scheme of a rug that the client owned. Deep cool green below the chair rail grounds the room and distracts from a low ceiling. Dramatic red silk drapery creates just the right amount of excitement in this otherwise calm environment. Interesting accents such as Asian-inspired demilune cabinet and striking round mirror complete the picture.
