W Residence was a remodel of a 2-story penthouse in downtown Shanghai. Our client asked for an open, modern, luxurious space, so much of the existing partitions were either removed or reconfigured to allow for a more open plan and for more natural light to enter the interior. The living room featured an Indonesian blue marble focal wall with cutaways to accommodate a shelf insert and a bio ethanol fireplace. Elsewhere, off-white marmorino walls, chevron oak wood flooring, and brass accents were used to communicate a rich and warm palate.
