A complete kitchen renovation in Caledon, Ontario. The brief was warm and livable, but refined — and the material choices reflect that from the start. Painted Sherwin Williams Pearly White shaker cabinets wrap the perimeter, clean and bright without feeling cold. The island and pantry wall are rift-cut white oak, clear-coated to let the natural grain speak for itself. The rift cut was chosen deliberately — tight, straight grain with no cathedral pattern, consistent across every door and drawer face.

The centrepiece is a full-height arched pantry wall built from scratch, wrapping floor to ceiling in continuous oak veneer and framing a complete butler's pantry alcove with upper cabinets, drawers, quartz countertop, stone backsplash, and a dedicated coffee station inside. The existing rangehood was refinished in Pearly White to match the perimeter — a small detail that tied the room together. Floating oak shelves, arched glass display cabinets, a farmhouse sink with brass bridge faucet, and under-cabinet lighting round out a kitchen that feels collected, not assembled.
