The 2011 DreamHome at the Washington Design Center was inspired by jewelry. I chose a green-and-yellow toned peridot and citrine necklace by jewelry designer Dina Mackney (dinamackney.com) as my inspiration, and the purple accents come from a design center showroom rug that I had fallen in love with. Bonus: my husband ended up purchasing the necklace for me as a gift—a lifetime souvenir by which I can remember this design.
