Precast concrete piers serve as sunscreens for the morning eastern light while the large roof overhang places the window wall in shadow for the afternoon sun light. The front facade acts as a privacy wall from the close neighbors. This house was designed for hurricane force winds and survive Hurricane Sandy with no damage.
