A microwave trim kit often takes up room in built in base or tall pantry cabinets. We decided to skip that step, and put the microwave in an open shelf, which then allowed for an additional 6" of drawer space. This is a great spot for your cellophane, tinfoil wrap & Ziploc bag storage.

A slide out tray for convenience. My favorite spots for this application would be in a tall deep pantry, in base cabinet which one would store appliances, or under the sink. In the planning stages your plumber would ensure that the hot/cold & pee trap are at least 12" above the finished floor.

Amazing what fits into a 6" base cabinet! I may have counted over 18 stacked items in this little guy! If your space allowed for 9" or more, I would suggest tray dividers. It makes life easier! Stacking trays, cookie sheets, cutting board and even platters upright is the way to go.
