When two become one.

These empty nesters wanted to take a bold move and turn their 3 bedroom house into a 2 bedroom forever home. It might not be a good idea if you plan to sell in the future, however, this was to be their last stop so we moved forward.
We removed the closet in the master, cut openings on both sides and the turned the wall into a headboard tiling both sides of the wall to look like a tatami mat. The back wall in the second bedroom became their "walk-in closet" We gave them double barn doors to the entrance to the bedroom to create a master suite feel. We also used a barn door for the master as well as the guest bathroom.

The clients wanted to have an ofulo they could take out as they age in place. The tub faucet will be used with a bench in the future. The niche was design to hold her ipad when she was soaking.

The window opened up to the side of the house where rain could come in and sit on the sill. We used the material from the niche to do the surround on both windows in both bathrooms.

The client wanted the whole bathroom tiled. It came out perfect.

The bathroom is a bit compact. In order to keep the countertops clear, we put in a pull-out cabinet. We also put an electrical plug inside the cabinet for their toothbrush and hair drier. We also hid a electrial outlet on the left side under the counter.
