White Pine Landing
Clad with natural materials including wavy edge white pine siding, Tennessee fieldstone, and a cedar shingle roof, the exterior architecture of this Upstate South Carolina home resonates with its wooded lakefront setting. The clean lines and traditional design outside give way to a forty foot high timber framed structure inside, creating a dramatic backdrop for the open plan and central entertaining space running through the great room and out onto a large rear porch. Through the use of earthy natural finishes, the interiors complement the exterior but also create a unique juxtaposition with the addition of more modern and industrial elements. Solid Douglas Fir timbers and wire brushed French Oak floors add warmth, while a mixture of wall materials including wood, steel, and plaster, add depth and texture. As a family home meant for casual entertaining, eclectic furnishings and décor including many custom artisan-made pieces, were carefully curated to create a unique space, while infusing a sophisticated and fun use of color.
