Up atop a Wicker Park condominium, this rooftop was created with three distinct areas for a unique, city escape. A custom shade structure with surrounding raised planters creates a comfortable, semi-private dining area with room to lounge in the adjacent fire pit gathering space. At the far end, a rooftop lawn was added to bring softness and greenery to the space without the need for maintenance. For further softening, faux boxwood walls were installed along the parapet walls to surround visitors with nature. Final touches including a gas fire pit, landscape lighting and drought-tolerant plantings create a space that is both functional and beautiful all times of day.
