Three years ago, my client Fred lost his wife to cancer and last July, he contacted me in hopes that I could assist him with the design and project management from across the country. He felt that it was finally time to update the home that they shared with their children for over 35 years.

With his daughter present at the 1st design meeting, we discussed subtle ways to honor his wife's memory while allowing full creative control with what I felt fit best with the home's traditional colonial architecture and the latest design trends.

Fred wanted to use a father & son construction team who had worked with him before and they both blew me away with their communication, skill and level of craftsmanship!

Even though we only had 3 in person site meetings (during the 9 month design & construction phase), the design process and project management was very similar to how I work with my clients in the Seattle area.

Needless to say, we are all thrilled with the final result and way that it seamlessly fits into to his traditional colonial home. It is also so much more functional for a man who loves to cook for his friends and family at home!
