Designed for a young, active family, our Windswept in Wellesley project brings together a series of thoughtfully connected living spaces—each with its own identity, yet unified in flow and function. The great room and living room, separated by French doors, were envisioned to feel cohesive while serving distinct purposes for both everyday living and relaxed entertaining.

The living room offers a lighter, more serene expression, with a soothing palette of soft greens and blues layered through transitional furnishings with subtle traditional notes. Elevated yet approachable, the space was designed to welcome both adults and children with ease—where nothing feels too precious and every material was selected with durability in mind.

In contrast, the adjoining family room embraces a deeper, more saturated palette. Rich blues paired with soft earth tones create a grounded, inviting atmosphere ideal for gathering. Two oversized sofas provide generous seating, anchored by a substantial coffee table designed for everything from casual lounging to puzzles and games. A large custom rug grounds the space, chosen to stand up to the rhythms of daily life.

Throughout both rooms, layered patterns and textures—from plaid accents to custom pillows and subtly striped curtains—add depth and visual interest while maintaining a cohesive story. The result is a collection of spaces that balance beauty and practicality, thoughtfully designed to support the energy of family life while feeling timeless and effortlessly inviting.
